Topic:

“2018 Outlook for Petrochemicals: Markets in Transition”

The US is building on its cost advantage in light feedstocks to significantly expand local capacity in petrochemicals. With an ethylene boost of more than 40% and at least 6.5mn t of new polyethylene production, these volumes could overwhelm domestic and international markets even as economic growth has maintained a good pace. We will discuss the expansion of this key petrochemical building block in the context of overall petrochemical markets and capacity trends in other regions.
