Topic:

“How 3D Data Capture (laser scanning) Has Changed How EPC Organizations Execute Capital Projects”

The laser scan technology has evolved over the past 20 years, but what has catapulted the growing use of this technology in the EPC industry is the fact that measurable and repeatable results have consistently demonstrated that cost savings can be achieved by incorporating this and other 3D data capture technologies on projects. However, it is not the laser scanning technology alone that achieve these consistent results; it is the work processes that the laser scanning technology enables that consistently provide cost-saving results. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the laser scanning technology, and how it is used in EPC project execution, and briefly touch on other 3D data capture technologies that are being introduced that will build on the success of the laser scanning technology.
