ai???Industry 4.0 (Digitalization) Impact on Project Execution Excellenceai???
Industry 4.0 has been referred to as the Digitalization Economy. One definition of Digitalization is the use of Technology to change a business model and provide value producing opportunities. The Digitalization revolution has impacted and changed many traditional business models, including brick and mortar retail vs. Amazon, taxis vs. Uber, and Blockbuster vs. Netflix, to name a few. Striving in todayai??i??s marketplace requires embracing and understanding what, and how Digitalization can impact the way we as an industry execute projects effectively, and maybe finally deliver the step change in efficiency we have been discussing for many years.
Major capital projects continue to be over budget and behind schedule. Discussions on how to improve center on better collaboration between the OO/EPC/Constructor, contracting strategies and better upfront design definition. How is Industry 4.0 positioned in these discussions?Ai?? How does the current focus impact our ability to innovate as an industry?
Amish Sabharwal, EVP Americas at AVEVA, will discuss how technology is disrupting the capital project execution landscape with potential savings of 10% of total project installed cost (TIC). These savings are made available through the optimization of data-centric engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning strategies enabled by the Cloud, advanced analytics to measure progress in real time, and augmented and virtual reality for breaking down silos between engineering and the field.
Are we truly ready to embrace industry 4.0 to not only strive in todayai??i??s marketplace but, more importantly, to survive?

Are we moving in the right direction? During this two-hour panel discussion, executives from leading owners, contractors and technology providers will discuss these key questions, focusing on critical performance areas including safety, workforce development, technology, productivity, and the lost art of project management. Audience participation will be encouraged.
